Top 10 Tuesday | Ten Presents I wouldn’t mind Santa leaving me under my tree

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme by The Broke and The Bookish and this week’s topic is Ten Books I Wouldn’t Mind Santa Leaving Under My Tree. But because I’ve already done a “Books on my wishlist” post I will be doing instead: Ten (Bookish) Presents I wouldn’t Mind Santa Leaving Me Under My Tree.

I am combining this something I saw over at Maya’s blog Book Dragon 1017, which is how your dream Loot crate would look like. I don’t know think whatever I picked is something that would be in a Loot Crate, but it’s just for fun anyway. So, my crate would include a combination of several of the items below:

  1. This Diagon Alley print with Harry and Hagrid by Ape Meets Girl from Society6. Link here.
  2. This shirt I fell in love with, with the text Then I defy you, stars! from Romeo and Juliet. The shirt is designed by Camille from Requiem For An English Major, and is sold on Etsy. Link Here.
  3. This o so pretty tote from Evie Seo on Society6. The text says “I spent my life folded between the pages of books.”. Link here.
  4. This cute mug from katiepaints from Redbubble with the Lunar Chronicles text Even in the future the story begins with once upon a time. Link here.
  5. A Ravenclaw notebook to express how proud I am of my house 🙂 . This notebook is designed by Stella Bookish Art and is sold on Society6. Link here.
  6. This bookmark from Ink and Wonder with a Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children text: We were like astronauts floating through a starless universe. Link here.
  7. A skin for my laptop (because it’s so boring and black!) with one of my favourite quotes on it: We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars. by Oscar Wilde. This skin is designed by Evie Seo and is also available for iPads and Macbooks. Link here.
  8. A pretty phone case (I don’t own an iPhone, but luckily it’s also available for iPods!) with a William Shakespeare quote on it: We are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded with a sleep. It is designed by Stella Bookish Art and is available on Society 6. Link here.
  9. More hand lettering handbooks! The one pictured is from Paperfuel and it is the one I bought this weekend and I am absolutely in love with it. This one is sadly only available in Dutch. Link here.
  10. (not pictured) Gift cards! For websites such as society6, redbubble, amazon, book selling websites or physical stores!

I guess you could say I love things with quotes on them 🙂

What is on the top of your wishlist?

ps. If someone has experience with having a Society6 store, can you please contact me, I’m having difficulties setting up a store. Yes you heard that correctly, I’m setting up my own store!

3 Days 3 Quote (Day 3)

I was tagged by Laylah from imbookedbybooks, to do the 3 Days 3 Quotes tag, thank you! This is day 3.

This is a very long quote, it’s more of a poem. But it’s so motivating and positive and it just makes me happy.

“Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing
can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity
to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel
that there is something in them
To look at the sunny side of everything
and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best,
and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past
and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times
and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side
so long as you are true to the best that is in you.” – Christian D. Larson

This is my second time doing this tag so I’m not tagging anyone in specific, but if you like to do this tag, consider yourself tagged!

3 Quotes 3 Days tag (Day 2)

I was tagged by Laylah from imbookedbybooks, to do the 3 Days 3 Quotes tag, thank you! This is day 2.

This is a quote by Katie Khan, and it’s from Hold Back The Stars. I think it displays quite well how we humans think sometimes, and it puts things in perspective, if that makes sense?

I think it’s human nature to struggle, even in a perfect world. Caveman struggled to find food and shelter. More recently men struggled in wars. But us. We get depressed if we say something stupid. We’ve got enough, so we have nothing to fight for. And it makes us unhappy. – Katie Khan

This is my second time doing this tag so I’m not tagging anyone in specific, but if you like to do this tag, consider yourself tagged!

Forget the risk and take the fall, if it’s what you want then it’s worth it all. – Unknown

Basically this quote tells you that if you really want something, don’t be afraid to try. Of course you can fail but it’s worth it. Which reminds me of another favourite quote of mine:

He who leaps for the sky may fall, it’s true.

But he may also fly. – Lauren Oliver

Don’t give up before you even tried!

I tag…

Whoever is reading this! Seriously, if you want to do this tag, go for it!

Quotes about Hope

Hope can be a powerful force. Maybe there’s no actual magic in it, but when you know what you hope for most and hold it like a light within you, you can make things happen, almost like magic. – Liani Taylor (Daughter of Smoke and Bone)

He who leaps for the sky may fall, it’s true. But he may also fly. – Lauren Oliver (Delirium)

We need never be hopeless, because we can never be irreparably broken. – John Green (Looking for Alaska)

Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark in the hopeless swamps of the not-quite, the not-yet, and the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved and have never been able to reach. The world you desire can be won. It exists… It is real… It is possible… It’s yours. – Ayn Rand (Anthem)

“Tomorrow will be better.”
“But what if it’s not?”
“Then you say it again tomorrow. Because it might be true. You never know, right? At some point, tomorrow will be better.” – Morgan Matson (Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour)

Never give up dreaming! xoxo Lia
